Commitment for
a Sustainable Environment
CPRAM strives to be an organization that cares about the environment being a Green Factory, and continues to seek other energy Approach 1
sources that are environmentally friendly through projects such as the Solar Rooftop project, which is a renewable energy project
aimed towards the goal of becoming a carbon neutral organization by 2030 and the reduction of waste and excess food generated
from the production process that is sent to the landfill process, moving towards “Zero Waste to Landfill”.
In addition, CPRAM is committed to the importance of biodiversity, ecosystem management system to protect, preserve, and restore Sorting / Collection Wash / Tumble dry Entering the melting furnace
resources and biodiversity on land and in water. In the past, CPRAM has launched the project “ Sustainable Blue Swimmer Crabs to compress into new plastic pellets
for Thai Sea “ which involves the release of young blue swimmer crabs into the sea to increase the number of blue swimmer crabs Approach 2
in nature, reduce shortages, and create food security and generate income for the fishermen. CPRAM also aims to add green areas
to the world by increasing the number of trees that absorb carbon dioxide in Thailand to reduce global warming problems and
climate change which has a wide-ranging impact from higher greenhouse gas emissions. This initiative is operated under the “CPRAM
Green Life” #Growing for a Sustainable World” project which involves planting trees in degraded forests, community forests and
mangrove forests, and the project “CPRAM Green Life #Hundred Thousand Plants into Hundred Thousand Trees” which distributes
plant seedlings to employees and communities to raise awareness in the conservation of the nature, to value and cherish nature Sorting / Collection Briquetting RDF Moving Grata incinerator Generating clean electricity energy
and environment for it to stay sustainable.
The “Zero Waste to Landfill” Project
CPRAM promotes waste management under the concept of the Circular Economy and efficiently adopts the 3 Rs
(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle as a waste reduction practice in every production process throughout the
company. 100% of waste generated in-house can be utilized, for example, food waste can be used to produce
138 tons of animal feed per year and 2 tons of fertilizer per year which are later used around the factory. Sludge
from the wastewater treatment system can be used to produce 3,434 tons of biofertilizers and soil conditioners
per year in which the farmers can use to grow bananas, the main ingredient used at the factory. Plastic waste can
be melted into 353 tons of plastic pellets per year and general waste can be used as RDF fuel in power plants
at 1,743 tons per year. As a result of waste management actions, there is zero landfill with value generated from
waste of 49.6 million per year.
The “Solar Rooftop” Project
CPRAM has installed solar rooftop covering a total area of 34,315 square meters, using
more than 16,000 solar panels, accounting for a total investment value of 188 million baht.
The electricity generated from the solar rooftop installed at CPRAM’s seven factories
across the country can produce more than 7,200 kWh of electricity. As a result, CPRAM
is able to use 10,512 megawatt-hours of electricity from renewable sources per year and
reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 4,877.57 tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent
to planting 113,403 trees.
